Default Non-Powerboost ProPower

Hi everyone, just ordered my ‘21 Lariat 301a with the 3.5. I didn’t want to go up to the powerboost engine, but I still want to have more than the 400w plug in the bed, so I optioned up to the 2kW ProPower. I’ve seen plenty of pictures of the Powerboost ProPower 2.4/7.2 setups under the rear seats, but I haven’t seen anything regarding the non-Powerboost setups. Has anyone gone this route, or are there any pictures anyone has seen? Just wondering how much room I’ll lose under the seats in case I wanted to get some sort of underseat storage in the future. Also curious if it’ll have the same battery and cooling fan under that back seat - I’ve heard that fan can be a little noisy sometimes, but I’m honestly not too worried about that. Thanks!

My 2 kw has the inverter under part of the rear seat behind the passenger. Same amount of space consumed in my previous ‘16 SuperCab.

All trucks still have the 400W inverter under the 40% rear seat. The 2kW also has a huge inverter under the 60% seat. I took a pic at the dealer to see if the two 12V batteries were under there for easy access but they aren't.

Has anyone actually used the 2kw system yet to verify how well it works?

I'd be curious to see how it compares to a Honda EU2000 portable genny.

The biggest downfall that I can see is that the engine has to be running to use it regardless of how much power you are drawings. So, if you are using it to charge batteries at a jobsite or run tools the engine will be running the entire time rather than only as needed to charge the battery. I ran into this with my 2019 F150 that I had for work when using the 400w outlet to charge my laptop when I was working in the field. I would idle the engine for hours just to charge the laptop. That is going to put a lot of hours on the truck engine if you plan to do it very often. For if you're already buying a 3.5L it would only be $2300 to add the 2.4k pro-power.
