Does anyone have a noisy moonroof on their ‘21? I do and tried lubing the seals as directed in prior years tsb and its not working. Any thoughts?

 

I get a rattle in mine occasionally. In my case, it seems to be in the shade mechanism. If it rattles, it's when the shade is fully closed. I fully open and close it and the rattle goes away. It's started rattling 3 times since I bought it.

 

Mine makes a knocking noise when glass is closed…nothing if vented or open. Also no noise when really cold.

 

I swore that the moon roof on my previous truck was banging and rattling...but come to find out it was my tri-fold bed cover bumping up against my rear window. Slid the cover back 1/8" and no more rattle.

 

That TSB (16-0020) where you need to grease the seals every 6 months or so with Krytox grease fixed my rattling issue. First time my truck started making this noise years ago there was no way I thought it could be from the seals; sounded like a loose bolt somewhere. Is it noisy when closed and driving?

Since you have tried that, have you also pulled the accordion shields out of the way to see if the track is broken?

 

Yep. Track is ok. When its cold and out of sun no noise…when heats up… creaking(only when closed). Dealer said they couldn’t hear anything…useless! I’m going to try the slick tape.
