Supply will get better for autos. The shortages are now going to start happening in other sectors. Computers, cell phones and appliances.

Believe it. With only one offshore major supplier And one in country (Texas Instrument), 2 years is about right. It takes 6-9 months to complete a sheet of the things! They saw a downturn in car sales when the pandemic hit and slowed production… only to get slammed with orders for computers. The upswing in remote learning when the kids were told to stay home and use remote learning caused a dramatic increase for laptops, etc. Texas Instrument is currently building a second facility in Arizona? which will produce a newer version of the chips (faster production) but since they have no expertise in how this newer process works they will probably join with that offshore manufacturer, under license to increase production. Trouble is building a new facility will take a year at least!

I wonder if MSRP will go up considerably next year(s) due to a combination of inflation and shortages. Makes me glad I decided to get a 2021.
