2020 5.0 here. My truck was built 3/6/2020, now has 23K on it, and have had zero oil consumption troubles.
Truck has also had a tune on it for at least 20K of those miles.
My brother has a 2021 5.0, bone stock, and no problems with his either.

Yes I know this truck has been better than average although this is the 3rd truck I have had that has gotten 190k or more. Had one bad one that only got 150k or 160k before the body rusted out. The rust on this one is why I'm going to replace it. Otherwise I think this truck would go at least another year.

This is my thought exactly. I have researched the other engines a bit and I would be OK with one of the Ecoboost models but it's awful hard for me to switch from V-8s that seem to last forever for me. The 2.7 makes a good case for better fuel economy. I don't NEED or necessarily even WANT the 3.5 because I wouldn't take advantage of its better performance and it's mileage would close to what I have now. If that was the truck that I found that I would buy, I wouldn't not buy it because of the Ecoboost but I am not actively searching one out either,

As a 21 I hope its ok, but I read there were improvements in the transmission in 2022.
The used market for current gen F150s is coming alive with pretty good discounts off the new vehicle. The 2.7 is a fine engine but payload is 450lbs below the 5.0/3.5 which will inhibit towing.
It is funny you mention the older models. I have come across a 2017 that says it has the 5.0 and 6 speed trans. plus only has 46k miles on it. It's 4 hours away from me though so it will take some work to get it. It's in their pre-sale inspection stuff now so I haven't been able to get any more details on it however it seems to check all of the boxes for me. I am actually a low tech guy so the touch screens and technology on the new trucks is actually a negative to me. I like simple and straight forward. I place dependability and longevity above most everything else when it comes to vehicles. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for all the input.

Every now and then I get double 6's when playing monopoly, it's good to be lucky.

That aside, I think the new 5,0 is a winner in most regards, had to dump my 2018......it was one of the worst steamy piles of junk I have ever owned....and sounded like a diesel after 50k miles, knocking, whistling, clattering......ugh, annoys me just to type about it.
