My truck does not have hill descent control, however, today when I started it up hill descent control was activated. I have no idea how, as I do not have a button for it. HDC went off only after I shut the truck off a mile or do down the road. After restarting truck , both trip 1 and trip 2 reset odometer and mpg to zero but not trip time. I am thinking a one off computer glitch. What are your opinions.
truck has just shy of 14,000 miles on it. I am currently in Big Bend NP with service only when I get to a ranger station for Wi-Fi. So it my be a while for any replies, however all opinions are appreciated.

 

Sounds like a computer glitch. But it could be a cause of a loose ground maybe? I'm just spitballing on why the trips would reset, and thinking that may happen with a battery disconnect, but I would think trip time would go with it if that was the case? No clue as to why either would cause HDC to activate randomly.
