Default Need Help: Hyper Flash + U0252:87-0A

Hello to anyone who can help.
My 2021 F-150 Powerboost started giving me hyper flash turn signals about 2 weeks about on both left and right turn signals. This truck is just out of warranty at 48k miles. There are no turn signal bulbs out when I check the truck. I hooked it up to forscan and it is showing DTC U0252:87-0A. Anyone have any idea what that is indicating? I also turned off the Bulb Outage indicators in the BdyCM Module Config. But still have Hyper Flash.

Code: U0252 - Lost Communication With Lighting Control Module- Rear 'B'

Additional Fault Symptom (:87):
- Missing Message

Status (-0A):
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Body Control Module

Thanks

Did your truck recently get an OTA update around the time the issue started?

You probably need to have a certain amount of posts before it lets you message anyone. Send me the VIN, too.

Ok, attached are two screenshots. The first is showing the codes you truck is reporting to Ford's servers. BCM code U0252 seems to be the cause of the issue. The second screenshot is of your OTA dashboard showing you have a pending BCM update on your truck. I don't think this will fix the hyperflash issue, but it is worth giving it a try. It the update does not fix the issue, you will have to take it to the dealer as it is possible module itself went bad and needs to be replaced.

As far as the update goes, it has been trying to install for 3 weeks now and has failed many times due to your battery stats being reported as very poor. Your battery capacity is at 26 out of 80 and your charge was at 41& the last time it reported this stat to the cloud. Your battery being this low may be the reason you are having issues period. If you have a battery charger, I would charge it overnight and try to manually install the update in the morning with the charger still hooked up to the battery. if you have a charger with power supply capability, then put it in power supply mode before starting the update (take note the hood must be fully closed for the update to install).

If you do end up taking it to the dealer, then ask them to perform a Rotunda battery test on. It looks like your battery may need to be replaced. Looks like your warranty just expired, too. If you have the disposable income, I would recommend you just buy a new battery for it.

Btw: You only have 6 days left before the OTA trigger expires and the update will not be able to be installed until it gets randomly resent to your truck.

Thanks for the info. I have to put my battery on a charger every month or so or it goes to Low Power Mode. I did charge it a few days ago but didnt manually run the update. It seems like the Powerboosts have a battery leak.
I'm 3 years in now (seems early) so I'll go buy a new battery and hope that fixes it.
