Default Missing Underbody Shield?

I was under my truck and noticed these J clips and nothing attached. Anybody know what attaches to them. I have an STX and was wonder if some sort of underbody shield is suppose to go there. I wouldn't think they would just put clips on, with nothing attaching, as the will rattle.

Is it in the spot where the skid plate would go for the fx4 package? Hard to tell from the pic

Agreed, looks like the mounting point for the skid plate. If you didn't order FX4 the mounting points are still there, it's where others install aftermarket ones.

Thanks, I suspected that is was for a upper trim level shield. But kind of strange putting them putting the clips on with out my truck having the shield. They do rattle some.

Unless your truck is pretty new, I'd expect to see some rust on those clips if the panel was installed.

FX4's don't get a skid plate there, they get the plastic noise/airflow panel. Steel plates are under the front of the engine and the transaxle.
