Default Looking at a 21 Lariat

Found a 21 Lariat that has most of what I am looking for. The Carfax report has something to give me concern. Since new, the battery has been replaced three times due to hard or no starting condition. What could be killing the batteries. Truck has the 5.0 and 23k miles.

That's concerning enough for me not to consider it.

Out of warranty with a known issue, run for the hills!

Yeah, I already passed on the truck. Was just interested to know what could cause the issue. Thanks.

If I recall correctly. There was a batch of batteries were manufactured badly due to materials. Causing the batteries to have internal corrosion and shorted out plates.

Many 21-22 trucks had mysterious battery drain that was more prevalent in the higher trim trucks. In some trucks in continues today.

When looking in 21 if the salesman connected a battery jump start to show the truck the interest in the truck was immediately gone.

Mysterious battery drain was one of the main reasons for going no higher than a XLT 302a.

I am curious if some of those trucks had the same symptoms with an aftermarket AGM battery.

A buddy of mine had a buyback on his 2021 XLT because of constant battery draining that couldn't be fixed. I would pass on any truck with 3 battery replacements.
