So I just recently bought a lighted hitch cover for my truck and I plugged it in and apparently they don't work for 21 plus because it says there's a trailer light out on the dash when I plug it in. does anyone know if there is a way around that maybe by using forscan or something? I know when I had a shop try to put on my tailgate light bar it did the same thing so I had to bring it to Ford and apparently they did something with the module it to make it work.

 

I wanted to install a bar light on the rear of my 150 below the tailgate. The local shop would not do it. They said when they installed them on the newer trucks, they always threw a code. However, I had the Ford dealer install the same light bar without any problems. Cost a little more but I got my light bar installed. Not sure what the dealer did but it worked.

 

Yea same I had the dealer install the light bar. Like I said though I'm trying to figure out how to use the lighted hitch cover
