Default LED headlights- how critical?

Yesterday I drove home on a 200 miles stretch of pitch black highway in a horrible storm. I noticed whenever a vehicle with LED headlights came near me, they lit up the whole road about 10 fold better than my 2004 suburban. Do current halogen lights suck as bad as the old ones? I just got my build date for 6/20 and I am tempted to cancel my XL solely off this factor. I'll end up about $7k more to get into a XLT with led headlights and some other various features. I never considered it until yesterday when I realized how unbelievably bad my vision was compared to every LED headlight vehicle around me. Any thoughts on this?

Get them if you can, but the 22 order bank is closed. I love the LEDs in my F150

After the last 5 vehicles I've owned either having HID or LED, I would never go back to halogen. Only downside of LED is they sometimes ice up in the winter.

After having LED's in my current truck and my previous two vehicles, I don't think I can go back.

I have LED in my Cheyenne, I cannot go back to halogen. My 2022 F-150 will definitely have it.

keep your order and just get aftermarkets. Won't be long before morimoto releases their iteration for the '21+ trucks. I believe alpharex already has a set out.

If you want the XL and don't want to spend 7k to get there, around 1k or so will get you decent aftermarket LED lights.

I will never drop below HID's again if i can help it. It doesn't help that the F150, even the newer ones, have what seem to be the worst possible example of halogen lights known to mankind.

I got bending LEDs on my 2022 Platinum, and they are the best headlights on any truck today.
Having upgraded my older vehicles from halogen to LEDs, I can re-assure you that you will never get proper optics for distance illumination. Philips H4 works OK, but that's the only proven bulb that is drop-in replacement, but you are not going to get a proper cutout line, etc.
Here is official measurement comparison between different headlights on 2022 F150: https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle...022#headlights - should help you to decide.
Good luck!
