Default Leather quality differences between trims

There was a recent post about issues on a member's KR drivers seat with the surface leather color wearing/flaking off. Is anyone aware if Ford uses and different quality leather between, for example, the Lariat and the Platinum?

disagree. The quality of the leather in the Limited is on a different level than other trims.

The leathers are definitely softer as you go up the trim levels. Whether the softer leathers are higher quality is debatable. I definitely prefer the KR leather to stiffer Lariat leather, but I bet the Lariat seats are more durable.
