Default Leaking 2021

Hey Guys,
just joined to see if anyone else had or is having my same issue. Live up in Edmonton Alberta and on Tuesday I picked up some new summer rims for my new 2021 F150. Bought this truck 2 weeks ago and currently has 850km on it. Still smells new. At work this week i noticed a oil stain in my parking stall and thought nothing of it. That maybe someone else had been parking in my stall. Upon swapping over rims I noticed a small puddle forming under my Left rear wheel on my jack stands. Upon further look realized that the whole inside of the rim was soaking wet and collecting dusty oil mess. Looked to inside of wheel well and all over oil had been spun around. Took truck back to the dealer and told them my problem. Said prob a leaking axle seal. Ok seemed legit. Picked up truck as parts were not available till today. Took back into shop this am at 730 to get fixed. Texted them at 2 asking when my truck would be done and a different person than I was dealing with past 2 days informed me that parts were backorder to the USA and that It would take 7-10 days. I was pretty pissed so I asked what parts they needed. He said he'd have to call me back. Like ok, read the report and tell me. 10.minutes later calls me back and informs me that it's U bolts that are backorder. I ask him can't you just re use the old ones till the new ones come in. Says he has to ask and will call me back again. Ok couple more minutes pass and call comes; ok sir apparently we are waiting for a new differential coming out of the states. I ask him how a oil leak has now turned into me getting a new diff. He says the bearings are going and will new a new assembly. So 850km and truck is out of commission already. Pretty upset to say the least

I would head down and talk to the manager to get to the bottom of it. Seems like this guy may have been talking out of his *** for whatever reason.

They are hopefully giving you a vehicle to use during your trucks down time. Best of luck and welcome to the site.

Still waiting for truck. Have now opened a claim with Ford Customer relations. Has been escalated through the Ford world and am now receiving a whole rear axle assembly built. Said 2 more weeks to arrive. Absolutely gutted about my new truck

I think that while this sucks to go through this is the best fix situation. The leaking seal probably allowed too much of your diff oil to leak out and it subsequently ran dry. With a whole new axle coming you won't have to worry if there will be long term damage / reliability. Plus you can ask them to paint all the rust before they install it lol.

I would think if enough oil leaked out to drain the pumpkin there would be residue all over. I wonder if they never filled it in the first place.

OP indicated the whole inside of the rim was a big mess and I think fill capacity is only like 2.5 quarts or something so its possible it ran low enough to do some damage?

Thats a PITA but glad to hear they are doing a compete repair and not just fixing the seal with potential damaged gears. Should be good as new when done.
