Lane keeping
New 2024 F150 Platinum. Everything set up correctly in the Features/Driver’s Aid section, and the button on the steering wheel selected with the icon showing properly on the dash.
I intentionally allow the truck to drift towards the white line betwen me and the next lane, and usually (But not always!) the truck corrects back to the right, but doesn’t vibrate the steering wheel always. When I let the truck intentionally drift to the right towards the fog line, it crosses right over it into the breakdown lane with no corrrections or vibrating steering wheel. Both my hands are firmly on the steering wheel. Even during daylight with no obstructions like rain or fog.
Addtionally, during blue cruise, for no apparent reason, blue cruise will tell me to resume control. Can’t figure out why. And when I do resume control it continues to warn me for 10 seconds or more to put my hands on the steering wheel when they already are.
And finally, what is the icon showing an truck, that sometimes is orange, and other times blue. Does this mean Blue Cruise armed but not yet available. (Orange armed, blue available?)
For those that are going to tell me to RTFM, I’ve gone thru the electronic manual several times on this and can’t find an answer.
Thanks!

As far as Blue Cruise, for better or worse, it helps to think about it as a system that is allowed by the vehicle to operate ONLY when an entire set of conditions are met - not limited to:
1) pre-mapped highway sections confirmed via navigation
2) sensors clean and working properly
3) speed at or below 81mph
4) sensors have full view of road ahead - visible lane lines and corners not too sharp
There may be others - but basically if any one of these fails the truck will drop out of Blue Cruise, then re-engage when the failed state has been corrected. Basically the ability to self drive is layered on top of systems already present in the vehicle. As far as I can tell it was never engineered to avoid driver intervention for hours at a time. Makes it potentially less frustrating to use but YMMV!

I have experienced a lot of what year speaking of. What I find with the wandering is the lions here locally or poor. This time of year they don’t seem to be all that great. The highway department seems to refresh these lines in the spring. It’s a no help right now.
As far as blue Cruise, keep in mind that not all roads are designated as blue Cruise available. And not all sections of the same road have blue Cruise available. Where I live I drive mainly two lane County and state roads. Very few roads here are available for blue Cruise. It’s only when I get close to Indianapolis or Fort Wayne that blue Cruise is more available for me. Also, the system has limitations, you can over speed the system, the system can lose the lines from terms that are too sharp. Both of these will kick the system off and ask the driver to take control

I have found when Blue Cruise shuts off for no apparent reason it is usually 1) near an exit/entrance ramp, 2) approaching a sharper-than-normal curve, or 3) no apparent reason whatsoever. Same with the Watch The Road warnings.... some trips I can go 200 miles with no warnings, and other trips they get triggered so often I turn BC off.
