Default Lane Centering While Towing

Pretty sure I have read where others have it available while towing, I do not. Is there a setting I am missing? "Ping Pong" works but says lane centering is not available.

Thanks!

I've towed about 3000 of the 4000 total miles on our 24' fx4 . The lane keeping feature works, but blue cruise does not . The lane keeping icon never turns blue either, it only attempts to keep you from crossing lane lines, but not very aggressively. It can also setup an oscillation , which was surprising. I'm letting blue cruise die, since it is not available while towing. Evidently it does work on the lightning while towing (?).

Adaptive cruise is a game changer though, it's awesome. It can even resume from a dead stop in traffic. So once you trust it, it really helps reduce fatigue.

Returned to WI from trip to FL pulling my 15' TravelLite. Lane Assist fully operational, and very welcome. Except in heavy rain when, of course, one could most use it (and yes, it was that rain which caused all the flooding in AR, TN, and KY - closed the campground for which I had a reservation for the trip home - worst weather I've pulled an RV in).

You may need to hitch the RV to your truck to confirm what options are available when it's hitched. I did, so far as I can remember, nothing extra to keep Lane Assist working when the RV was hitched to the truck. Button on the steering wheel worked to turn it off and on.

As another point of reference my '23 XLT will not allow lane keep assist while towing. Adaptive cruise works nicely as does lane warning.

Not "lane assist" where it won't let you cross a line, what I called "ping-pong". I am referring to "lane centering" where it will keep you in the middle of the lane.

Didn't know that is a thing. I don't recall seeing anything like that in the manual for my XL. Now I'm going to give the manual another look through.

Ah. It's part of the Adaptive Cruise Control system my XL does not have.

It works when towing. I drove 100 miles post snow storm towing during when ice covered the trailer. Had no problems even with the sensor. Historically the adaptive sensor gets covered in snow then stops working.

Are you sure you are talking about lane centering and not lane keeping?

Just from my experience, when the ping pong table is blue, I believe it's in lane centering mode, which feels much like blue cruise but hands on. When it's just white, it's doing lane assist/keeping. I have never seen blue while towing, but lane keeping, though sometimes annoying (road conditions affect it allot) works towing. I read somewhere that the lightning allows bluecruise while towing, so probably lane centering also.
