iPhone sync to truck
I tried to make a phone call yesterday while driving and I got a message that said phone not sync to truck. Might not be the exact wording. This worked previously as the dealer set it up for me. Have not driven the truck much lately. So did I not subscribe to some service for this to continue working or any ideas?
Forgive my ignorance as my previous truck was an 02 super duty, I’m helpless with the technology in this truck.
thanks

When you first connect a phone it has to do a download of your address book into the Ford system. Until that finishes it won't allow you to make a call via voice command. Depending on the size of your address book this could take maybe 10 minutes at most I would guess. Once that is complete it will upload the onsie/twosie updates each time you start the truck again but that happens really quickly.
If you have a '22 truck with Sync 4A or whatever they are calling it, if you activated Apple Carplay it will no longer allow you to make voice calls via the Ford interface at all. It will direct you to do a long press of the button to do it via Siri. I decided I wasn't impressed enough with Carplay to give up the easier Ford phone interface so I turned that off and I'm much happier. If you really are "tech challenged" as you mention I would recommend not enable Carplay, but that is just me. Good luck!
