Question Intermittent GPS

I have my 2021 F50 PB Platinum for almost 2 weeks now. I'm still on my learning curve.

I was testing out how to use the NAV as it works very differently than the OEM on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have noticed that it can take a while for it to initialize. Sometimes never. Next trip it works ok, Then the next trip it doesn't, so It's possible I have a loose antenna connection. Has anyone else had an issue with it?

I'm getting the GPS icon with a red circle/slash and the map displays downtown Detroit.

I used to live in Mexico City and the GPS went wonky whenever I drove through areas with high-rise buildings. GPS is not like a cellular phone, it works better when there's nothing above the car to the sky.

I've never been to Detroit, if you're in an area with high-rise buildings, that's normal but I did notice that newer systems were better at that though.

I have had this three times. Along with the ‘no GPS’ icon, the satellite radio won’t get signal, and blue cruise won’t engage (no doubt because the truck needs the GPS to know it’s in a bluecruise zone). It’s like the satellite antenna isn’t working; in each case, it happened in areas where I know there is perfectly fine GPS reception normally. Problem corrected after the truck is shut off for a bit.

im not sure about the first time, but the last two occurrences have been when starting up after fueling, and in each of those events it was preceded by the ‘fuel door open’ warning when the truck first started up. When this has happened, I open the fuel door and pop the little flap in the filler neck a couple times which corrects the error message, but have then noted the no GPS problem. I don’t know if this is coincidence, or perhaps the satellite antenna cable runs in the same wiring harness with the sensor cable that communicates the fuel door is open, and I’ve got a loose connector? In any case, the problem is too intermittent and transient to try to track down with the dealer as yet

Does anybody have the documentation to know if there is any commonality with the satellite antenna wiring and the fuel door sensor?
