How Long Codes Stored?
Kinda a random question... I had the SSN Stop Safely Now message on Dec 18 on my powerboost. Thankfully was able to get it started basically immediately. However, the check engine light remained illuminated. Dealership was on my drive home so I swung by and just had them scan the code quickly. U0111. Anyway, I didn't have time to leave the truck and didn't feel like getting into the weeds so I had him clear the code.
No issues since.
With that said, I see there is now a TSB available for the SSN message (TSB 23-2317). I'd like to get this addressed eventually so hopefully never happens again. Reading it, they need to see some specific set of error codes stored somewhere in order for the truck to be eligible for the TSB.
My question is this.... how long would the codes be stored in memory in the truck? If the tech cleared the codes does that permanently erase them?
No issues since.

Thanks for the info. Will just deal with it correctly the next time I get the SSN message. Hopefully never.
Interesting that code is an intake air temp sensor fault.
If there were other codes besides U0111, would those also have been cleared or does a tech have to manually go through each stored code to clear?
Per the TSB the dealer would need to "see DTC U0293 and/or P1A43 in the BECM or in connected vehicle data" Any chance these codes might still be in there or these are erased along with the U0111 I had him clear?
Thanks again.

I think you are on the right track about the tsb.
Here is some info I found noodling around......https://www.engine-codes.com/u0111_ford.html
