Just bought a 2022 F-150 FX 2 days ago. I went to open the hood to look at my new engine and it wouldn't close past the hook you release. It will not close all the way. Dealer is 45 minutes away. Sprayed some wd40 and after a few try's, it finally shut. Afraid to open again unless I'm sitting in front of a Ford dealership. Anyone else experience this, especially on a new vehicle?

 

Are you sure it’s the hood latch? Check your rubber hood stops - maybe they are protruding too high and not allowing the hood to drop low enough to engage. These stops are notorious for being all over the place from the factory.

 

Maybe try pulling the hood release again. Somehow the latch might have tripped and will not allow the hood to close.

 

I have to slam mine pretty good to close it.
