Default Help finding 7.2Kw 240V plug

Hi all,

I am having a heckuva time finding a 240V plug for the 7.2 power port. I saw one in a post a short time ago, and like a maroon didn't bookmark it. This one plugged in to the 240 & split off into 2 120's.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, you guys. I haven’t known what to call it, so my search parameters haven’t yielded too much.

If you got this, isn't it just the same as if you just use the 4 outlets under the 240v plug? (2 outlets from each side of the inverter)

Correct, this would be a slightly odd purchase as it wouldn’t offer much more benefit than the outlets already provided. Your max is 7200 watts either way, and the product linked is essentially what the installed outlets already do. I guess if you needed to draw 120x30amp from a single plug? I know RVs are usually 120x30amp, but they also usually have an L14-30 plug so this wouldn’t be needed. But I don’t know for sure that the linked plug can offer 30 amp from a single outlet either, I thought you had to buy a portable transformer to convert the two legs to one at 30 amp. I would be worried that it’s four outlets, two capable of 15 or 20 amp and the other capable of 15 or 20 amp, not to exceed 7200 watts total.

The onboard 120 outlets are 20 amp, which is as much or higher than most household outlets (15 amp isn’t uncommon, sometimes 20 on newer construction).

Similar. But I have a chop saw that pops the 120V 20 amp breaker. It has a high startup load. Works fine on the 120V leg of the 30 amp 240V outlet.

Saw works fine on my 15 AMP home GFCI circuit as well...

Your mileage may vary.

Someone posted this one a while back https://www.costco.com/firman-25%E2%...100735755.html

The advantage would be only one cable from the truck into the house, and then you could branch to whatever from inside the house

But I'm not sure if that's your use case.

That is perfect adn I think I am going to buy it for exactly that reason.

Getting a transfer switch setup from the truck to the home circuits is proving far more difficulty/annoying than one would hope, and I for one already have a portable backup generator with transfer switch, so the truck will just have to be a backup-backup and only run crap that can plug in via extension cord.

Though running a cord is a PITA since you can't close the door or window.

There really needs to be a convenient solution to, you know, power your home appliances with the damn powerboost

I'm just starting to pursue the transfer switch setup. We have oil-fired forced hot water heat and I can't just plug the boiler and circulators in. It's not going to be cheap, and we've never really had more than a few hours outage in the 25 years I've lived here, but I think it'll be worth it.
