Headlight Bulb Replacement
It was painfully hard to peel back the fender liner...I have Canadian model with the UBER ROCK hard non-flexible inner fender shell but it is possible.
I used plastic trim tab tools to pry around the anchor tab where the third screw goes into the trim tab. I think the plastic tools are key. Essentially one only has to pry around the first tang without blowing out a hemorrhoid and then it's easy as pie. Getting around the first tang is paramount. Putting it back in is way easier.
After some cussing and swearing and a little blood (wear gloves for the pry back)
I could get in there. Once the fender liner is slack it is super easy.
I used the new Sylvania LED plug and play bulbs, stock numbers...HOLEE WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I now have head lights for the first time ever. THEY ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD. And DOT legal. I think I shed a tear on the test drive.
Only complaint for the install is that the low beams don't turn in/lock that easy...you have to torque the living s**t to get them to lock in. I used a little teeny microscopic, minuscule dab of vaseline to lube the tangs and on the second attempt passenger side even put a crescent wrench on it to lock in (no effort with the crescent wrench) it is possible with fingers but you gotta be strong. Strangely the low beams went in with feather effort. So effortless for both.
Four body screws out of the inner fender, use plastic trim tools to flex/pry around the first tang (difficult) and after that it is super easy. I only watched YouTube videos of people tearing the whole entire front of the truck apart (so wrong) to drop the headlight assembly (unnecessary) or the air intake and making everything loose as hell for no reason. You DO NOT need to do that. And keep in mind I have the super hard thick non-flexible inner liner and I was able to do it.
Cheers

OMG I did it tonight. I am stubborn. I refuse to take apart the front clip to change bulbs. That is just plain wrong. Really? Tear your whole front clip apart top change a bulb??? I can't think about doing that. That is just way too much work to change a bulb. Only problem is the YouTube videos show SUPER SOFT inner fender liners for this method. And YouTube only shows people tearing their whole front ends apart to change bulbs...WRONG. I tried earlier in the day with the fender method and could not do it. Then I got mad and went back at it and took my time and thought about it. I have not replaced headlamp bulbs, but I have had to pull out my conversion harnesses a few time for my headlamp swap. I just pulled the battery on the Passenger side and the airbox on the drivers side to get to the back of the headlamps. It really isn't all that hard that way
