Default Halogen headlight adjuster

2021 f150 xl with halogens. Left side adjuster doesn't move the beam at all. The adjuster turns freely but doesn't move light projection at all. Is this repairable? I hope I don't have to replace the whole assembly.

Is your headlight beam adjusted too far down or up at the moment? Are you able to see the gears in the top of the headlight where the adjuster is? Do they look broken or anything? Sounds like the gears aren't meshing anymore. The adjuster may be broken inside the assembly which will require baking apart the headlight to fix or replace with a similar adjuster.

Headlight is too far down. Shines almost directly on ground. The adjuster turns freely and the black piece inside the teeth goes in/out while turning. Doesn't seem to be slipping.

Ok, try this. Remove the bulb from the bowl. Wear some thin gloves and reach in there with a couple of fingers and pull the top of the bowl toward the back of the headlight assembly while turning the adjuster or having someone else turn the adjuster and see if you (y'all) can get the adjuster to grab.

Found it if anyone ever has the same issue. The adjuster ball wasn't locked into socket somehow. It was a little tricky getting it pushed back together but it works now.
