Default Gas cap lock

I bought a gas cap lock for the earlier f150’s and it didn’t fit. Since it was plastic I modified it with a hacksaw and now it fits perfectly. Here are some pics. The gas cap lock cost $10.80.

Thieves don't syphon gas anymore. It can not be done with these new gas tanks necks. They'll just puncture a hole in the plastic gas tanks.

Yes they don't steal gas anymore, just the whole truck these days.

Yeah, drilling a hole in the tank is a lost faster and can be done lying under the truck, instead of conspicuously kneeling next to it. Or so I've heard...

I know that but at least someone can’t dump something in my tank.

Except for a Jeep Wrangler, all vehicles I've owned since 2008 haven't had a gas cap. That includes gas, diesel, Ram, Ford, Chevrolet and now GMC. It's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

Cordless drills, plastic gas tanks, and anti-siphon devices in filler necks have forever changed the game! No longer will a thief ever touch a fuel door again!

And while they're under there waiting for your tank to drain, they'll probably cut off your cats with a cordless sawzall too!

So glad I live where that's not a problem.

You realize you can't even siphon gas from these trucks anymore, there's a screen in-line to stop it. Plus thieves just drill the gas tank or cut the fuel line.

This is a complete waste of money and "feel good exercise"...

Really? To each their own, but I've NEVER been concerned about someone dumping something in my gas tank...
