So traveling down the interstate. Navigating with Google Maps being shown full screen in Apple Carplay. Turn coming up. I wanted to check a card on the right (hidden when full screen). Pressing the Carplay contract soft switch (upper left in the Carplay screen) causes Google Maps to reset. Route, next turn, etc. all gone.

You have to start over at Search ... and this can be a hassle when typing is inhibited. Experimenting with it I discovered that whether expanding or contracting... Carplay effectively closes Google Maps and you have to start again.

Is this normal behaviour? Anyone else experience this?

 

Responses may be slow as very few people have this update. It may well be you found a bug that needs fixing.

 

Yea, I got tired of OTA waiting and FDRS'ed up to latest because of my planned 2400 mile trip.
