Default Fuel Door Release Button / No Button?

I have noticed in videos that the KR, Platinum, Limited models with PowerBoost don't have the raised bump on the fuel door to open it from the exterior of the truck, rather there is a button on the interior by the headlight **** to open the fuel door and it also displays a message on the dash.

Is this only a PowerBoost fuel door feature?

No PowerBoost and raise bump on fuel door.

PowerBoost and no raise bump on fuel door.

PowerBoost and fuel door button.

I asked that question once. I was told it had to do with releasing pressure from the tank before the fuel nozzle is inserted into the capless filler. The door isn't supposed to open until it's bled off.

Is this true? I don't know.

Why is the tank pressurized? I don't know.

Keeps fuel fresh as hybrid can extend how long it takes to use fuel. My Energi has it, here's a video:

Thanks for the video link.

That explains why in videos it has been strongly stressed not to over fill the gas tank on the PowerBoost by stopping the first time the pump shuts off. It needs the extra room to pressurize the tank.

I hope this isn't considered thread hijacking, but it is related.
I have the 2021 F150 SuperCrew Full Hybrid Powerboost Lariat.
It has the push button release for the fuel cover in the cab.
I was shown by the salesman where the manual tool was located that would open the fuel cover in the event the electronic push button failed.
It is somewhere behind the left rear seat, but I can't remember how to get the seat forward to get to it.
Anyone have one of the same truck and can remember or take a pic of the release mechanism?
I'm not in need now, but would like to have my old brain jogged in case I need it in the future.
The lift strap behind the left rear seat head rest doesn't seem to pull up to lift the seat forward, I think that is for tiedown only....

Thanks in advance
John

In the F-150 manual it outlines this as well as many other aspects of the vehicle. Here is a link and picture below: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/F...US_10_2021.pdf

I saw something about a strap, I am 99.9999% sure it was never inside the cab, but under the fender. Someone had made something to keep it in place I guess. Ford may have changed the setup for the Job 2 trucks, or maybe they all have this tool.

Thank you very much for the reply, yes, that jogged my brain cell loose.
It is inside the cab, and there is a strap to pull to get to it, but it isn't on the drivers side as I thought I remembered, it is on the passenger side.
Behind the passenger rear seat is the jack and on top of it is the emergency fuel tank opener. There is a strap on the side of the seat to access these and other tools.

Thank you for jogging my memory, and also pointing out this link to the user manual online, I had not seen it mentioned, but I'm sure it has been in a thousand posts on this and other forums I am part of.

Best
John
