Hit a deer a few months back which put a small dent in the front bumper and crack some plastic including the cover for the drive side radar sensor. At first it looked like there was no damage to the radar unit so drove for a few months all good. Last week I started the truck and got a radar blocked/error message. It is permanent now.
I now can see the front of the module up high has a crack in it so I need a new module.
I talked to the dealer, and they are like $1K + but I can buy a used one from the wrecker yard for $300 or even a new one for around $600 from some of the online stores.
Need some help:
1.. Can you remove the module without taking the bumper off? You can get at it but how is it snapped into the bracket?
2.. If I replace it myself, I am reading I can recalibrate with Forscan?
If I can get it out, I will take it apart to see if it is savable. (Doubt it)
Photos are before and after pulling the dent out with my tractor.
I relocated mine a few months ago for same problem. You can remove sensor without removing the bumper,It slides out. I found a video on you tube. As far as replacing without programming i don't know.
Mine was cracked and full of water. I took it apart and cleaned it up but no love (Actually didn't expect it would). Now off to find a good deal on a replacement and download the Forscan software.
