Default Front Diff Size

What do we know about the front differential size? So far, I have 8.8" and 31 spline. From 2009-2020, it's a Reverse IFS differential, but I'm not sure if it changed in 2021. Ford Performance lists the Raptor torsen as being compatible with F150 front diffs through 2021, so it seems likely but not certain than the rest of the parts, namely the diff cover, rebuild kits and gears, are interchangeable. I just bought a Raptor torsen, but I'm still working on getting the ancillary parts. Any help is appreciated, and I'll feed my results back into the community after checking with aFe and Yukon and ultimately getting it done.

It should be entirely the same as the previous generation. 31 spline reverse rotation 8.8 IFS. Note it is NOT the Super 8.8, which applies only to the rear axle.

The front Torsen should bolt right in. Since you're not changing the gear ratio, all you would need to do is verify the backlash and carrier preload. A set of shims should be sufficient to adjust both. Pinion depth does not change, unless for whatever reason you decide to pull the pinion.

Note that the front Torsen is only designed for front applications, even though it could actually bolt into a rear standard 8.8. Likewise, rear application Torsen and Truetrac differentials should only be used in standard rotation carriers.

Updates: using one of my 10 built-in feeler gauges, I determined that the clearance between the front diff cover and the steering box is "not much". It's on the order of 1/4" from the thin sheet metal from the factory, so there may not even be enough clearance to get the front diff cover off without dropping the steering gear. Even if you were willing to do so, you would still have barely any space to fit a thicker diff cover, though the clearance issue seems to affect a relatively small area of the diff cover. The infuriating part is that this circumstance only increases the utility of a diff cover that allows for draining and refilling the front diff without removing the diff cover. I will chat with a few makers and get their thoughts. Since it's almost a certainty that the steering gear will need to come off to replace the diff, I would much rather change the diff cover at the same time if at all possible.

Edit: At least one Raptor owner is in the same boat, but the drain/flll plug does allow for fluid replacement without pulling the cover:
