Forscan Programming

I have a 2025 Platinum Plus. I have not used Forescan, and do not want to try it out and screw it up. I am very tech savvy, but with new things, I would rather have someone with experience.
Would like to add the pillar buttons. The 2025 did not offer it, but I know the wiring is in the door for it.
I can get the buttons in and the wiring connected, no problem, but do not want to risk the programming.
Anyone in SoCal that can do the programming for this? Of course I would pay for the service.

Thanks.

If you’re very tech savvy, you should give look into forscan tutorials.

I don’t consider myself extremely tech savvy, and had no issues using forscan.

The trick is BACKING THINGS UP before you start and not going overboard.

Too many just jump into it, don’t back it up and then come here with problems.

I used it only for two things, deleted forscan after and have no need for it.

I feel your pain. I have been looking for someone in SE Virginia with no luck so far. I tend to be the guy others call with basic tech problems and typically survive the experience with smiles. As suggested I watched a few Youtube clips on it yesterday and it doesn't seem all that bad. The biggest thing I am looking for a the moment is up to date responses, spreadsheets, equipment requirements? There are numerous threads about the topic but most are huge with hundreds of pages going back years.. Going backwards on this thread is how I came across your post. If one of those super smart folks that have all the most current intel would start a new 2026 FORscan Use thread it would be great.

FORScan has not changed. There is no need for a new spreadsheet or instructions. You don't need a powerful computer.....FORScan is a very simple program in terms of the demand it puts on a PC.

Forscan looks and sounds intimidating, but really it's not that bad. Watch a few tutorials and take some notes on how to get hooked up and in to it, then like everyone says, backup and go slow, one thing at a time. I made a change one day in the ABS module, and my truck did not like it one bit, I had lights on like crazy all over my dash, I went back and undid it, problem solved. And if all else fails, Ford has a website you can type in your VIN, and it will give you every line as built of your truck. So don't be overly intimidated by it, you will find it's pretty easy once you get going.

Will give all your as built lines in all your trucks modules. I printed one out and keep it handy, probably 35 or so pages.

Great explanation. Been watching a few videos, confirmed PC is adequate, thinking about ordering the cable this week. Thanks

I meant to ask, but what are pillar buttons?

Grouper63 Jun 5, 2026 01:35 PM

Im the same way, scared to death to mess up my ride what if I dont back up correctly lol

rugedraw Jun 5, 2026 02:05 PM

Even if you don't make a back up, you can always type your VIN here and get the factory as-built file for your vehicle here:

There is a lot of fear-mongering on the forums when it comes to using FORScan. You aren't going to brick a module by changing a few bits around to enable or disable something. If you make a change and you don't get the desired result, you just change it back to what it was before. It really is that simple.
