Default Is Ford Pass Really Harmless?

I have read where people say Ford Pass is just a harmless display of what data Ford is already collecting.....BUT....if it is why does Ford push it so much? They bribe you with $210 to sign up and this really surprises me coming from a cheap *** company that removes plastic phone holders and cupholder lights in a $70,000 vehicle. Just curious.

You get the points whether you use the app or not. It's not a bribe.

They push it because Ford offers it for free and other auto companies charge money for the same features.

It doesn't bother me to share the data with Ford. I did not think I would like the app, but I find it very useful.

What is everyone using the app for? I use it to schedule my remote starts other than that I do not see whta else it may be useful for. The only other feature I could use is Map, but at the current state without satelite view it is useless for me.

Everything tracks you these days. All the apps on your phone, your phone itself, all the websites you visit, your vehicles, etc. Big money in tracking and selling data and it’s just the nature of the world today.

it will track my 6 miles a day that I drive

Vehicle stats, oil life, and to make sure it’s still in the garage since it’s showing it at my neighbors house. Lol

I just pulled this off the Ford website:The FordPass App is necessary to complete FordPass Connect modem activation for modem-equipped vehicles to earn Points with a vehicle purchase.
