Default First Oil Change

two questions

How many miles did you have on your truck for your first oil change? My 2015 I changed at 500 miles and did the same for the 2019 Lincoln SUV. Is this needed or should I just wait till the oil light comes on?

My 2015 I changed every 5,000 miles (had the Ford Dealer change using the synthetic blend) but I purchased this truck at a different dealer and he said he changes his every 7,500 miles - what do you do? I drive about 7,500 a year in the truck

I also rotated the tires every 5,000 miles and when I traded the truck in I had 73,000 miles on the original tires and were not to the wear bars yet. and easy to remember 5,000 no math needed

I usually watch the oil life monitor and replace at 25%. I'd be perfectly fine running it to 0% if needed given I run full synthetic. I intend to keep this car 15+ years so the extra expense of slightly early oil changes is worth it in my opinion. Anything sooner than about 30% is a waste unless it is a lower quality synthetic blend or mineral oil.

is the ford blend synthetic good? do you use a ford full synthetic or another brand.

I run full synthetic in the Corvette and change once a year (due to time not miles only about 3,000 miles a year

You're used to 5000 intervals, why not stick with that.

One year or 7500 miles, which ever comes first. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic and my 2010 f150 when I got rid of it had 105,000 miles with no oil usage.

Well my first oil change on my 2021 Explorer King Ranch was just done after one year of ownership and a whopping 2800 miles....

My F150 has had 2 done at 14800 miles on it right now.

Ford Quick Lane bulk oil always goes in my vehicles.

I had around 300 for my first oil change, I think.

Every 5,000 or so afterwards.

My truck, the Explorer ST, and my last truck.

Oil is a full synthetic 5w30 (currently API SP Castrol Edge) and filter is a Fram Ultra Synthetic or a simple Motorcraft

No way will I go 10k between OC. Aiming for three OC by 20k. First was at 6200, so I’ll split the other two closer to 7k each. Given my typical highway driving with distance, everything gets nice and warm preventing sludge buildup.

I don't understand why anyone uses a blend. Most experts agree that synthetic is better than dyno oil and a blend costs nearly the same as a full synthetic. Also, I think there's an assumption that a blend is a 50/50 mix, but no oil company will tell you what the ratio is. They may put a teaspoon of synthetic in and call it a blend and, well, it is.
