I'm trying to run a ham radio antenna coax through the firewall. I found this grommet in the engine bay and underneath the dash next to the brake pedal. Is that nipple on the grommet made to be cut open and used as a pass-through?
Yes you can, I do CNG/LPG conversions every day and that's where I've been running the wiring through to the inside. I spray it down with foaming glass cleaner and cut it with a razor blade. Then I have a wire tool with a sharp end that I use to poke a hole on the inside and feed the harness though.
