Default Factory paint damage

So just picked up my second 23, since first had 20 paint blemishes on it. This one has 7. Sales manager says nothing he can do since within ford specs. Still taking the truck home since I know waited 4 months for it. Worst is driver door has dust under the paint in the center of door. 2 extra paint added to door frame and tailgate edge. Can I just wet sand it and buff it? He said entire door would need repainted and won't match perfect. Wont give any money or credit to parts since I already got a good deal on it. Thanks

Sorry for your troubles. Friend of mine got a new '22 F150 recently and it had a paint defect from the factory on the leading edge of the hood. The dealer "made good" on it by replacing the hood with a brand new OEM unit that they had painted, but its even worse now. Its evident that it wasnt done well with dust under the clear and numerous imperfections, but it does match fine.

On one hand, yes, Id see if they are willing to help you out at all financially, but be sure to take it to a reputable auto body shop. On the other hand, I agree with fella at the dealer, there is the giant opportunity to make it worse by trying to make it better.

Not sure what we're looking at here but these aren't "show trucks", they're "off an assembly line trucks".

Like @Stu Cazzo said, the issues aren’t coming through the pictures all that well. If you think that there was dust under the clear, wet sanding won’t do anything unless you commit to going all the way down to the base color layer to remove the dust. Wet sanding will smooth the outer clear only.

I hear you, these trucks are expensive and buying any new vehicle brings the perfectionist out in all of us. I recommend you take three steps back, look over everything, then sleep on it before potentially making things way worse (and expensive).

Not that it is necessarily "wrong" but sounds like you are far too picky for a purchaser of a production line vehicle. And face it...inside of two months of ownership you will have 10 times that much "damage" caused by bird, stones, hail, acid rain, parking lot door dingers and shopping cart attacks.
