Instructions in the manual do say you can set up to 5 codes on the keypad and it also always has the factory code also.

My card came in the cover slot of the black canvas folder of documents that included the Supplemental Owner's Guide, Tire Warranty, etc.

Here's a picture of the back of the card. It shows the basic functions, but there are more in the Owner's Guide, including how to program all five additional codes. The initial code written on the card also always remains active. I tested it.

Interesting twist. I reached out to the dealer this morning and told them the situation. He said that the cards have not all been in the trucks lately, but here is your number. The number he sent was not the one that the truck has stored. In fact, only 1 of the 5 digits was the same, or even in common.

Though, as I think about it... Since each button has 2 digits... The code I had only had one wrong number.

In any case, the new code works. I will store it away but worry just a bit about a future owner getting the wrong code from the system.

But seriously Ford, how does that happen??

How does it happen? People stop giving a **** about their jobs. Only logical answer I can come up with at the moment. Quality is no longer job 1. My opinion only.

Pretty sure your dealer was giving you a bs answer.

They conveniently had the code on file.... Let's see... How did they record it.......I'm guessing a clerk at the dealership got the card out to record the code and misplaced it. The card is probably floating around the dealership somewhere..

When I bought my 2019 XLT, it did come with the keycode card...BUT...when I went thru the menu on the dash to bring up the keycode...it was not the same numbers. Now...the keycode was the same as far as the sequence of button pushes because the buttons each have two numbers. Strange though that they didn't get the matching keycode card to go with the numbers displayed on the dash menu.

Thanks
I found it in the FordPass app. Its just like the old process, I couldn’t remember the process but was over thinking the new truck. I figured it would program through that big ole monitor in the dash.

Doubt it….. I just purchased a 2021 with 11k miles this week and removed the factory plastic wrap from the manual to look for a business sized card for the factory code and nothing. Had to look up how to get the code using both keys in the key program slot under a cup holder. Also the code the truck gave me doesn’t work when changing in SYNC 4 like Cessnadog has mentioned in this forum. I’ll try changing it on the door pillar tomorrow. If this doesn’t work looks like I’m calling the dealer.

You cannot change the original fixed Ford Programmed code.
