Default Which F-150 changes are Great vs. Hyped?

All of this is obviously opinion and I am curious what others think, for a different perspective. To me the following changes seem welcome:
  • 360 Cameras in lower trims
  • New LED headlights (hopefully score better on IIHS)
  • Drive and safety features at lower trims

Hyped to me:
  • Work Surface, doesn't seem to be that ergonomic and I wouldn't want to reliability issues with my shifter.
  • Lay Flat Seats

I'll add that the tailgate with a bottle opener is an unnecessary novelty. My favorite features of the 2021 are just the higher-trim features coming down to lower trim levels. More affordable now to get a truck with push button start, LEDs, adaptive cruise, 360 camera, etc.

I saw that on a recent promo video. $60,000 truck and even has a bottle opener...

Reminds me of when Toyota made it a big marketing thing that you could fit a gallon of milk in the center console of the Tundra. Because I so routinely go to the store, get a gallon of milk, then hide it in my console.

I'd give it 50/50 odds it gets forgot there for a surprise later lol

The hybrid option only being available with one engine is a bit of a disappointment. I'm thinking two things: either Ford wants to only use it with one engine first as a "test run," or because of the increased power of the hybrid, they dont want to cannibalize sales of the non hybrid engines one rung higher (i.e., a 2.7 hybrid taking sales away from non hybrid 5.0 and 3.5 engines). I'm guessing that for the next mid cycle refresh, we will see the hybrid system make it's way into more engine choices.

Max recline seats are overhyped. Less because they aren't useful, but because they are limited to the KR and above trims.

Adding a ruler to the tailgate, hype. Bottle opener on tailgate. Hype. The work surface thing seems useful, but don't like the folding shifter mechanism.

I agree. The 302a for 2021 is a big deal... Also the extra tie downs on the tailgate are really nice even if the bottle opener is a little goofy.

I think they are hyped as people who can afford a KR+ will have enough money to get a nice hotel room. It seems like it might be a better idea for a XLT.

The sliding work tray on the back of the middle seat looks better to me than the flip work surface with the folding shifter.

I once bought a gallon of milk and it had a slow leak that soaked down into the carpet.

All that stuff goes in the back now. Wine, grape juice et al.
