Default Enabling 3rd Brake Light Wire?

I purchased a used Leer cap this weekend (looks great!) to go on my 2022 302A PB. I found the wire under the air box referenced in this thread, post #9, https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thre...g-issues.7353/ but the wire is not sending any voltage when the brake pedal is pressed. Does anyone know if this needs to be turned on via Forscan and if so what the address and changes are to enable it? I am open to an alternative wire if someone knows where I can tap in.

Thanks for any help!

Possible, but I did check slot 23 which is the only my research pointed to as a possibility and fuse was good. I’m not 100% sure that there isn’t another one though, but I haven’t been able to find anything else.

I also took it to my dealer and they couldn’t figure it out either, but they had never done what I’m trying to do before. They are “doing some more research.”

If this is the wire your talking about.
I was looking at the wiring diagram for a 2023 3.5 Ecoboost and the grey/orange wire taped to harness near G100 is controlled by the TBM ( trailer brake control module) and goes to the BCMC (battery junction box) maybe there's some programming or just try plugging in a trailer plug so the truck can sense it and then check to see if that wire has power going to it when stepping on the brakes.

That is a good idea and I will try that, but the idea behind using this wire was that I wouldn't have to plug something into the trailer hookup so that the truck wouldn't think I am hooked to a trailer. Still worth trying as part of diagnosing the issue.

Truck is going in Monday for service for something unrelated. Hopefully the dealer can figure it out then if I can't beforehand.

Unfortunately I had no luck with the trailer hooked up on this wire either. Leer finally responded and said that the wire I was on was the correct wire, but did not provide any further guidance as to what to look for to get my wire hot. The dealer wasn't any more help either. They could not get it figured out while I was getting my oil changed and were going to call me back after doing some additional research but never did.

So, I am back hat in hand looking for some guidance on where to go next! Possible fuse blown? Enabling something via Forscan? Just SOL maybe?

Just an update, I was able to enable the wire with changes to BCM 6F0-01-03. I changed B000 AA to B001 AB and it went right to working. Hopefully someone else needing this info is able to find this thread instead of going down the rabbit hole I went down.

Sorry for the question, still learning forscan. Where in forscan is this to change. I went down to BCM in both built format and the normal and didn’t see this code to change. Mind you I’m still learning how to use forscan. Thank you

Found this same issue. Found it listed under BCMC module in Forscan. Fixed the voltage issue for my truck cap brake light.
