EcoBoost MPG?
Greetings all, I'm ready to order a 4WD 22 Lariat Super Cab and need your advice on which EcoBoost engine to order. My current old 4WD V-6 import gets me 17 MPG in the city and 19 MPG most of the time on the highway. I like to "feel the power" once in a while, so the 3.5L is tempting. However, I take two Maryland to Phoenix, AZ to Seattle, and then back east trips every year (got to see the grandkids), so good mileage would be appreciated on the highway. What kind of real-world city (moderate driving) and highway (about 65-70 MPH) milage are you getting in your '21 and '22 F-150s?
I'm really looking forward to having a nice, quality built, American truck. One last thing, my two spoiled rotten beagles want me to ask if anyone knows a source for aftermarket super cab rear seat warmers?
Thanks in advance.

Should be pretty quick for you to find the answer you are looking for.
Note: It is going to vary from 13 mpg to 24 mpg. You're welcome. haha
Your Lariat should be equipped with rear seat warmers standard.
Get the v8. I'm getting anything between 18.9 and 22 hand calculated. Lifetime to date 20.9.
When you start to use the Boost, you loose Eco.
Plus get the 36 gallon tank.

I have 14k miles on my 3.5 and on the display I have averaged 19.5 over the life of ownership. I have never hand calculated it because it isn’t super important to me, but some people say the display can be off by a mpg or 2. My driving is a good mix of highway and city and I love the power of the 3.5.
I have a trip odometer that I have never re-set for 23,000 miles so I have a huge variation of driving including towing horse (horses) with the 3.5 max tow and it says 17.7 mpg. Like above I don’t care about my mileage only driving 10K or less a year! I hand calculated a 200 plus miles trip once and got 20.4 (non-tow). I never go over the speed limit as well!
My new 22 XLT 302a is coming with the 2.7EB with the 3.73 rear locker that comes with the 2.7EB payload package.
2nd choice would be a 5.0 max tow with the 3.73 gearing.
Had a 2.7 EB / with 3.55 gearing in a 16 501a Lariat and it was a fun vehicle but was lacking at higher highway speeds and fuel mileage tumbled over 70mph.
If going with ordering a lariat go 502a if at all possible with 2.7EB with 3.73 gearing to give the 2.7 all the advantage it can have.
Got these options in the ordered 22 XLT 302a Interior Work surface, Bed Utility Package is required to get the box LED lights, tailgate work surface and tailgate step.
Are you in need of remote power??? 2KW power may be nice.
Neighbor has a 21 502a 3.5 EB max tow 6.5 bed. His only complaint on the vehicle is on their traveling from Midwest Wisconsin to Tucson Arizona spring and fall the fuel mileage sucks. Note his last truck was a 19 502a 5.0 with 3.73 gearing.
Look this over on fuelly.com. Look at the all around history of the 2.7EB, you see 2.7 is on top then 5.0 then the 3.5EB comes lower.

Good luck
