Default Does anyone know how …

Does anyone know how to remove the center console trim on a 2023 FX4 with the work surface? I want to stow my iPhone inside the center console and while there is a hole for a usb unit? There is just a plastic removable plug in there. I know I could run a usb cable in there but I would rather not have a loose cable next to the cup holders.

I want to remove the trim on the passenger side so I can run wiring to a usb receptacle I just got. I’ve looked online but only find links to videos that show older models and nothing that is similar to mine.

oh and hi all.

😀

YouTube it…I did this when adding my illuminated cupholders and found several videos on how to remove various trim pieces. Can also look up videos of the penny trick for making your armrest stay open…again, will show how to remove various pieces.

Too many usb outputs are too low powered to satisfy he power draw of today's phones. You're best to wire in a 12 v outlet, and get an usb-c plug into that.

The unit I bought is made to tap into the 12v wiring. There is even a hole where it can call its home all predrilled. I just haven’t seen a video of the removal of trim that is like mine. I guess someday when I have nothing better to do, I’ll have to poke around and see what comes loose. 😀
