Default Default screen on infotainment is settings?

I just took delivery of my 22 F150 on Wednesday and one thing that has been driving me crazy is when I start my truck the Sync 4 is always on settings. I use wireless carplay, which I love, but when my phone connects the screen just stays on settings. Is this normal and does anyone know a way to have the screen switch to carplay when your phone connects?

My truck never goes to CarPlay, it only lights up an icon on the bottom of the screen, next to Audio icon. It will switch to CarPlay if I get a phone call or text message . Now that’s the way I saved my personal profile, have you tried changing your profile and saving it?

No, lol I didn't realize there were personal profiles. I'll have to look into it to see if I can change it using that.

With Android Auto, there's a settings feature in the app on the phone that can override the vehicle default when launched.

Might have something similar in Carplay

Reviving this thread. I have the same issue and I'm sure others are in similar boat.

I had an Android phone and recently swapped to iPhone (mistake btw). Sync defaulted to settings screen while running Android Auto. I was hopeful CarPlay would work better but same behavior as Android. Still defaulting to settings.

Does anyone have this worked out where Sync defaults to a screen of your choice? What is the trick?

I don’t want car play all the time, so I place it on the Home Screen after CarPlay launched. I did this once and it seemed to stay that way, I don’t remember anything special I did.
