Default Data Upload to Ford

Does anyone know the type of data that is uploaded back to Ford? This is pretty typical where I will have 10s to 100s of KBs downloaded to the truck, but MBs of data being uploaded….

Plenty of spots in the Sync that control the data you send to Ford.

Most likely the current software levels and logs as needed. As noted above there is also speech and media metadata that is shared if you have it enabled under connectivity. Unfortunately no real way to know beyond that.

Thanks Vulnox. I know there are things that can be turned on and off as far as sharing, but I'm never sure how opting out of sharing would affect receiving OTAs. I honestly don't really care what they receive, it just seems like a very skewed amount of data going back up, and then not seeing an OTA for over 6 months.... Back a few weeks ago, it had uploaded almost 25MB and only downloaded 725KB...

I opt out of all information sharing. Meaning, I opt to share nothing. I get updates around the same time as others post receiving theirs. So likely no impact. Plus depending on location, requiring an opt in could be a privacy law violation.
