Honestly, it might work out for you. Seeing other timelines in the tracking thread, it seems like a crapshoot sometimes. Some truck are ordered and 2 weeks later are in/near production. It just depends, I guess. Need a decoder ring to figure out how Ford chooses builds, dates, plants, and shipping times.

I asked the general sales manager about the chip shortage. He suggested it hasn’t really impacted F150s but other models like cargo vans, Ranger, etc.
He is poorly informed. Ford is cutting production at plants in Michigan and Missouri that produce its profitable F-150 pickup trucks due to a global semiconductor chip shortage. ... Semiconductors are extremely important components of new vehicles, for areas ranging from infotainment systems to more traditional parts such as power steering.Feb 4, 2021 https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/04/ford...wer%20steering.

“The automaker said Thursday that its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan will drop to one shift from three for a week beginning Monday, while truck production at its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri will drop to two shifts from three. Ford spokeswoman Kelli Felker said both plants are expected to return to three shifts the week of Feb. 15.”

Doesn’t sound that terrible.

yeah, true. The dealer also said they had allocation for February so that supposedly matters. The other dealer I spoke with said 10-15 weeks. The dealer I ordered from said 8.

We placed an order for an F150 & Expedition 2/10. The expedition was picked up immediately for production & is getting built this coming week. The F150 still has not been picked up. I’m guessing the F150 is going to be a while.

nice! I’m in Canada, near Ottawa. I ordered my 21’ New Year’s Eve. I’ve never asked the dealer for a vin or an update so I’m assuming I should expect a call any day! Thx

You'd be surprised. I ordered from a high volume dealer 12/28 and tracking site shows expected delivery 3/14. Can post your dealer and sales code in the tracking forum and Pioneer74 can look it up for you.
