Courtesy light issues

Sometimes my interior courtesy lights work, sometimes they don't. I have a 2021 KR. Does anyone know the rhyme and reason behind how the courtesy lights operate? Thank you in advance.

There is one button up there that enables or disables them, I think it turns orange when you have them disabled.

This. It's *** backwards. Why they can't have the 3-way rocker switch I have no idea.
