So I just installed a console safe on my 21 XLT. Now I can’t use the tray that came with the vehicle. I might be able to use it if I cut off about 3” on one end, but not even sure if I would be able to close the lid after doing that (tray might be too tall).

On my Superduty which I traded in for this truck, I was able to use the tray by just cutting a round hole near the middle of the tray so that the lock **** could fit through the tray....and there was plenty of horizontal clearance......it looked seamless too.

Anybody else go through this, and come up with a good solution to the “no tray” option? Thanks.

 

I removed my tray. It was always in the way of grabbing a kleenex. Maybe you could attach a magnet and turn the tray sideways right on the safe?
