Default Climate control question - fan speed

The climate control in my 15 501a would automatically adjust the fan speed. For instance, if I got in the truck with the temp set on 72 and the truck was at 74, the fan would barely run. However, if I got in the truck with the temp set on 72 and the truck was 105, the fan would automatically blow harder.

In my 22 501a, the fan speed doesn’t automatically change much … really very little if any.

The owners manual seems to indicate that it’s necessary for me to adjust the fan speed myself. Is this true?

First world problem. Just trying to figure out if I’m missing something.
