Check engine P2450
My '24 F150 Lariat Powerboost, that I purchased last November, had the "Check Engine" light come on. I hooked my gizmo to the OBD and it read P2450. The P2450 code is an issue with the evaporative emission system switching valve, specifically that it is stuck open or not performing as it should. This valve controls the flow of fuel vapors from the fuel tank to the engine for combustion.
The dealer picked up my truck Monday morning and got to work on it Tuesday morning. The tech checked it and ordered a part and installed it Wednesday. No change. Today is Friday and now they are doing a "smoke test" and will have to drop the fuel tank. I just filled it up before that got it.
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know what a "smoke test" is. What is involved in dropping the fuel tank?
Thanks y'all.

No direct experience with a P2450 code on my '21 F150, but I've done plenty of evaporative emissions troubleshooting of vehicles. I'm guessing from the code the tech took the easy route and replaced the charcoal canister purge valve without much other diagnostics. Since that didn't work they are now looking for some other 'leak' in the evap system. A smoke test uses a machine to generate a very small pressure with some sort of mineral oil to make a visible smoke to help the technician find the leak. This video has a pretty good overview:
Since you mentioned just filling up with gas, I hope they checked the gas cap was installed correctly. Embarrassing if that is the problem.

Code 2450:
The PCM opens the valve coming off the Throttle Body to allow Vaccuum to the Fuel Tank.
Then closes off that condition.
Then looks at the fuel tank Pressure Sensor for >>leak-- in<<, an Emissions requirement testing system sealing ability.
Any leak in the >line up< will fail the test, if it falls outside of leak vs time limits.
.
This test is even done while the vehicle is in sleep mode but for increases or decreases in Tank pressure due the changes in temperature while setting unused.
It is supposed to be a closed system most all of the time. But has different codes for this sleep mode tank pressure monitoring.
Good luck.
