Default Check Engine Light - Emissions

Noticed a check engine light today on the way home and checked Ford Pass. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get checked out but was curious if anyone else has had the same message.

Just got a call that the check engine light was caused by a bad O2 sensor. Very happy for an easy fix.

Updating in case this info is useful to someone in the future.

Jeez. That’s a long wait. Did they tell you it was ok to drive it, or is it sitting at the dealer?

Well, the issue has returned. This time the dealer is telling me it is the O2 sensor on the other bank. They are trying to figure out if the issue is bad O2 sensors or something else going on with the engine that is eating the O2 sensors. The advisor told me that they have a ticket in with the engine department of Ford's tech line.

I have had this truck for 38 days now. 18 of those days I have driven the truck, 20 of those days it has been at the dealer for service. Looks like I will be making my first payment on this truck while it is sitting at the dealership.

I have always heard people joke about not buying a truck built on a Monday or a Friday. I think mine might have been built on a Saturday during a mandatory overtime shift. Lol.

I will update when I get more info in case anyone in the future has a 2021 with a 5.0 that likes to eat O2 sensors.
