For real that pump will leave you cussing and wiping up gear oil. Those suck horribly even when screwed atop the bottle. Ive probably bought 3 of them and they always leave stinky gear oil all over. Everywhere but where i want it.
It works extremely easily for me.
Bottom line is whatever little pump a person is comfortable with will work so long as you can stick a hose into the diff housing and connect it to the suck side of said pump. The nice thing about the one I suggested is they are cheap enough to throw away after one usage.

I have added a drain plug to just about every truck I have owned. I will eventually do this to my 2021 f150 front diff too. Not saying that it couldn't cause damage. I drill and tap a drain plug. Not a big plug😅 I recall using 3/8 but with the fill plug off. The gear oil should drain no problem. I do this because I like to change fluids every 30k.
