2023 XLT; Is it possible to change the default driving mode from Normal to Economy? Every time I start the truck the driving mode defaults back to normal after having been in Economy.

 

If you press OK as soon as the choose to keep Econ screen opens up, you'll keep econ.

All econ does is make the accelerator pedal trigger less action by the engine for any particular amount of pedal movement. If you can train your right foot to mimic the econ mode, you can live in Normal.

 

The only problem I have with Eco is when I need to get past someone it likes to stay in 10th gear and it makes me laugh everytime.

 

I tried eco time on my 23 5.0 it was comparable to neutering my truck....I would like to default to sport mode so I dont have to push the OK to stay in sport.

 

Yes, but you have to do that within about 5 seconds after starting the engine otherwise the driving mode defaults back to Normal every time you start the truck. And even if you press OK within the time limit it still defaults back to normal on the next start. I think this is an oversight by Ford, even though like others have mentioned it probably doesn't really save gas.
