Center Console Shifter
Hoping someone on this forum can offer me some advice. Having problems with the Center Console Gear Shifter on my 2021 Ford F-150 XLT 5.0L. Brief history: first experienced a problem 3-months after purchase in June 2021 when shifter got stuck in Drive and couldn't put into park. Drove to dealership - had to turn off in Drive. Told them not to tow vehicle but believe they did as somehow, they told me they scratched front end and had to repaint front bumper. However, they did fix stuck Center Console Shifter. Over the next 2.5 years, had some similar issues with not being able to get out of Park or not able to fold the shifter flat or the shifter making clicking sounds. Towards end of 3-year warranty, in April 2024 took vehicle to dealership for few minor unrelated issues but also mentioned intermittent problems with the Center Console Shifter again, about not folding down / coming out of park. Dealership ended up replacing the Center Console Gear Shift Lever Assembly and "Programming the Gear Shift Lever Assembly." Now, a year and two months later, I am having additional intermittent, but similar, problems with the shifter, summarized as follows:
At times I come out to my parked vehicle and when I get inside the truck the Center Console Shifter is continually clicking - like a constant attempt to initiate the small electrical motor that the Console uses to fold the shifter down. When I place my hand on the shifter, I can physically feel it slightly engaging and rocking the shifter back and forth. Many times, if I physically push the shifter forward as far as it will go when in Park, the clicking will stop, but when I stop forcing the shifter forward it returns to the "clicking" situation. Sometimes when I come home and put the vehicle in Park, it will immediately start the "clicking" issue. When I exit and lock vehicle, I believe it will continue clicking until the normal vehicle delay / time-out of lights / time-out of electrical components is complete and then I believe it stops until I unlock the vehicle the next day. Sometimes when I am not having this problem, the "lay-flat" button works; sometimes it doesn't.
I know there is a related Technical Service Bulletin - 21-2141 (Console Gear Shift Lever Will Not Come Out Of Park Position - Gear Shift Lever Tow Position Operation Delayed Or Stuck) which talks about replacing and reprogramming the Gearshift Module (GSM). I can find very little information related to my problem on this forum, but I can see from a simple Google search that many other people have related problems with their lay-flat Center Console Shifter. Now that my truck is Out of Warranty, I assume that if I take it back to the dealership, they will simply do what they did a year-and-two months ago (replace and reprogram the gear shift lever assembly) and charge me several hundred dollars, for which they have already repaired twice. My concern is not just the money, but I believe it will just happen again. I am worried about this present intermittent problem now stranding me somewhere. I am also worried that the constant clicking is making things worse by constantly engaging the small electrical motor in the console module that folds the shift lever down and/or running the battery of the vehicle down. Some of the things I have read on the internet talk about a low battery (I know mine is fully charged as I use a Battery Tender to keep it fully charged). I also suspect (am wondering) if it may be related to when the inside of the vehicle heats up when it is parked in sun on hot days, as have noticed on some cool mornings have no issue with clicking when unlock / enter vehicle, but mid-day when very hot, encounter problem.
Sorry for the long post; Just hoping someone on this forum could provide some advice, recommendations, help, etc. Thanks in advance!

Appreciate your reply that it is a switch problem. Are you able to provide any additional information. Is this something that I could purchase a replacement switch and repair myself or is this something I would need to take the vehicle into the dealership? Any additional explanation and / or help would be greatly appreciated.
