I installed the JLT also and I feel it can’t hurt anything as long as you remember to check it at least at every oil change. I get about a teaspoon of oil every oil change but I only drive about 1000 miles a year. Is it necessary, I doubt it. It looks cool though.

Are they really needed? No. Do they hurt anything? No.
No, not ridiculous. In the winter when the humidity is high, my catch can will fill in 2-3 weeks. As I said, mostly with water. Because of how long the hoses are for the Powerboost set-up, the water can and does freeze and can in fact block the hose. The hose set for the Powerboost runs across to the driver's side where the can is mounted and is much longer than the one for the 5.0 trucks. This is due to the large number of power connections near the battery that are unique to the Powerboost. Similar but different.

Does your truck sit a lot and make a lot of short trips without getting up to operating temp? Or is it driven a very low amount of miles per year?

I have one on my 2021powerboost after talking with my mechanic. It's been on for just over 5k and there is very little in the can.
