Default A/C in cold weather question

In general, I don't like my house or car temp to be hot. Today was the first day since I've owned the F150 that the weather was cool, at about 35 degrees. When the air was on low, it was quite cold blowing in, but when I bumped it up one click to 60, it was hot air, like the heat was blowing. Is there anything to adjust or a way to get a happy medium with air temp when it's cold outside. For my entire drive, I had to switch from low to 60, back and forth.

I felt the same thing yesterday and today. "Low" seems to vent outside air. "60" seems to trigger heat, at least when the car is cold and first starts up.
