Default Black Appearance Package

I have a 2020, crew cab with this package AND a 6.5 ft bed, and since my lease is up soon, I was hoping to order the same thing. Why is ford charging so much more for trucks but now limiting what customers can custom order? You’d think for $50k+++ I’d be able to get a 6.5 ft bed with a black appearance package.

Ford, you need to do better.

I would buy your lease out. I bet your truck is worth a lot more than your buyout price.

I swear some of you live in a different world. Have you stopped to take a look what’s been going on around you the last couple years?

I’m sure it is! My buyout right now is 36k and I have only put 21k miles on it. I’ll be able to buy it for 32k in AUG 2023. If I traded it in the dealership would probably just turn around and sell it for 50k! lol (I’m in Michigan BTW)

I’m not really sure what point you are trying to make. Why would it matter what’s going on around us? We should still get what we pay for, and 50k should get you what you want, especially on an entry level trim.

In terms of customization, ford is falling WAY behind, yet still charging a premium. Go take a look at the different features you can get in a Silverado, or a RAM. And don’t give me the old “BUILT FORD TOUGH” “CHEVY IS GARBAGE” bull****.

The point is everything is in short supply, and in high demand so the cost for most things has increased significantly over the last year plus. It’s not a Ford thing, it’s the same for every manufacture. Ford, and others are forced to limit what they can produce, and since they’re unable to produce at levels anywhere what they’re accustomed to, price goes up and supply is down.

It is like that for everything. Food, oil, transportation, raw materials, and components.

You think Ford wants to be in this position?

If it comes on a boat or a truck,it's gonna cost more. This supply chain party is in the first quarter.

I find it odd that I can’t get a 6.5ft bed with a black appearance package. Which has zero to do with materials. That’s what my complaint was originally about, but I also find it odd that we are paying more money for less. And Covid isn’t an excuse anymore, it’s just ford trying to save a few bucks.

Paying more money isn't odd, it's inflation and limited supply. I'm not sure what you mean by "for less" though...less what?

The more configurations offered, the more complex the logistics/supply chain. As a portion of overall sales, the 157" wheelbase is not popular to start with, either, which is likely why things Tremor are only offered in the super practical super popular crew cab 145" that is the vast majority of demand.

And this isn't a new concept. HDPP isn't available from even a high XLT or up. For $60k-$75k why can't we get what we want?

I'll wager there are more possible configurations of F150 than any competitor as it is already, FWIW

We're not paying more for less. Compare 302a features on a 2020 to a 2022. There are now standard features that weren't even optional on the previous gen.
